Kaitlin R. Yeilding, M.Ed., LAPC, NCC, graduated from Auburn University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has successfully completed the requirements to become both a National Certified Counselor as well as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. Katie's aim as a counselor is to provide clients with an environment that allows them to feel accepted and genuinely cared for. Katie practices counseling from a client-centered orientation to help clients identify and reach their unique goals.

Katie has experience addressing a variety of clinical issues including but not limited to: depression, neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety and related disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, divorce and trauma. Katie worked as an Intern Counselor at East Alabama Mental Health Adult Day Services and Lee County Clinic. Katie also worked as an Intern Social Worker at Family Connections in which Katie supervised non-custodial parental visits. Katie assisted parents in developing beneficial parenting techniques through providing parents psychoeducation and modeling unconditional positive regard and encouragement to children.

Katie is passionate about helping children find ways to overcome their difficulties through expressing genuine empathy to her clients. Katie provides an atmosphere in the counseling setting that allows children to feel free to creatively express themselves while walking through the healing process. Katie has extensive experience working with children of all ages as a nanny, graduate assistant pre-school teacher, Intern Social Worker at Auburn City Schools, and mentor to students at Opelika High School for four years. Katie aims to instill hope in each of her clients, that they can achieve their therapeutic and personal goals. 

Ms. Yeilding works under the Direction of Olivia Prewett-Scott & the Clinical Supervision of Diane Levy, Ph.D., NCC, LPC, CPCS, ACS and JoAnna White, Ed.D, LPC, RPT/S, CPCS while at Thrive.
