meet ms. alyxandra

Alyxandra Paige, M.S., LAPC, NCC. is an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) with the state of Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She is currently pursuing her additional certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Alyxandra received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Kennesaw State University in 2014 and recently earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Brenau University. During her graduate internship at Art It Out Therapy Center, she grew to love the integration of play and arts with therapeutic treatment. Throughout her internship she gained experience on ways to help children who struggle displaying appropriate social skills, managing ADHD, experience a lack of impulse control, and struggle forming satisfying friendships.

Prior to starting her graduate internship, she also worked with individuals with developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder. These experiences have developed a great sense of empathy, patience, and care that she incorporates within the therapeutic relationship. Alyxandra is passionate about serving children and parents that are struggling to process and adjust to unexpected life changes. Furthermore, she enjoys working with middle and high school aged children that find it challenging to navigate social changes in the midst of the developmental changes that occur around this age.

Alyxandra utilizes a cognitive-behavioral orientation and believes that if clients are able to challenge and reshape unhelpful thought processes, they can better help themselves navigate challenging moments when alone. While she does use the cognitive-behavioral approach often, she integrates other theoretical orientations based on the needs of the client. Ultimately, her goal is to create a place for clients to feel comfortable and supported being their true selves in addition to equipping them with the necessary tools to achieve a healthy state of mind.

Ms. Paige works under the Direction of Olivia Prewett-Scott and the Clinical Supervision of E. Amanda Dellinger-Allen, Ed.S., M.S., LPC, NCC, CPCS, RPT-S, CTS, CAMS while at Thrive.
