Ellyce Payne, M.S., LAPC, NCC is a Nationally Certified Counselor in the state of Georgia and a graduate of Georgia State University with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ellyce specialized in Play Therapy and Traumatology while pursuing her degree. She is a licensed associate professional counselor in the state of Georgia and a member of several professional organizations, including American Counseling Association, Association for Specialist in Group Work, and Chi Sigma Iota. Ellyce is currently open to clients of all ages, with primary interest in working with children, adults, and families.

Ellyce has more than ten years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. She has experience as a nanny and a summer camp counselor. Most recently, she has provided services at Odyssey Family Counseling Center in College Park. At this family mental health agency, Ellyce worked closely with children and their families struggling with a variety of mental health illnesses, life change concerns, and crisis and traumatic events. Previously, she worked as a counselor intern at The Life Change Group, a private group practice located in Peachtree City. She provided weekly individual, family, and group counseling to children, adolescents, and adults through talk therapy, play therapy, and the expressive arts. Ellyce worked with individuals struggling with issues such as attachment, domestic violence, self-harm, depression, attention concerns, physical and verbal aggression, grief, trauma, poor social skills, anxiety, oppositional defiance. She also conducted and scored psychoeducational assessments within private practice and elementary schools and participated in IEP and 504 meetings with support staff at Odyssey Charter School and Chattahoochee Hills Charter School.

Ellyce is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and their families find solutions that are right for them through the counseling process. Her experience and training in Play Therapy and childhood development allows her to connect and build relationships with both parents and children to create change. She practices from a client-centered perspective and believes in creating a collaborative and understanding environment for all her clients and their families.

Ms. Payne works under the Direction & Supervision of Thrive Counseling's Clinical Director E. Amanda Dellinger-Allen, LPC, as well as the Clinical Supervision of Diane Levy, PhD, NCC, LPC, CPCS, ACS while at Thrive.
