Jade Colwell Dennis, MAMFT, NCC, hails from Richmont Graduate University and holds a Masters of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has successfully completed the requirements to become a Nationally Certified Counselor in Georgia and has received specialized training in family systems and trauma counseling. Jade’s primary focus as a therapist is to promote healing and growth through safe, non-judgemental, and compassionate relationships. Jade practices from an interpersonal, client centered approach, believing that individuals of all ages and backgrounds have stories worth hearing and understanding; she offers unconditional acceptance and support through the client’s freedom of expression in play, art, and dialogue. Jade is passionate about walking alongside clients, facilitating connection within families when possible, healing hurts, and developing growth through self-awareness. Prior to working at Thrive Counseling Center, Jade worked as a clinical counseling intern at a private practice in Metro Atlanta, at Ridgeview Institute’s youth services in Smyrna, and as a school counselor in Rome, Georgia. She is well-versed in treating trauma, from developmental trauma, grief and loss, to physical and sexual abuse, and neglect, family discord, anxiety and depression, adoption, divorce, mood disorders, gender identity (LBGTQI+), self-harm, low self-esteem, anger issues, disappointment, difficulty in school, and life changes. Jade is currently open to seeing clients of all ages, with particular interest in working with families, children, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced trauma and the struggle of life.

Ms. Dennis works under the Direction of Olivia Prewett-Scott & the Clinical Supervision of E. Amanda Dellinger-Allen, LPC, CPCS, RPT/S, while at Thrive.
