Katherine A. Grabowski, M.S., LPC, NCC  is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. She is a graduate of Georgia State University with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and holds years of clinical experience working in hospital and private practice settings. Prior to joining the Thrive team, Katherine completed her graduate internship working for Laurel Heights Hospital, providing individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents within a residential treatment setting. In addition to Laurel Heights, Katherine simultaneously worked as a pediatric psychotherapy intern for Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, providing psychological services and family support to children, adolescents, and families both in Aflac’s inpatient unit and outpatient clinic. Katherine specializes in working with a wide variety of presenting concerns, including trauma, self-injury, suicidal/homicidal ideation, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, severe aggression, chronic illness, and medical adjustment.

Upon joining Thrive Counseling Center in 2016, Katherine advanced toward full licensure providing therapeutic services for children, teens, adults, and families. In addition to expanding her career as a counselor, Katherine also developed a passion for leadership and consultation. In August 2020, she elected to change professional course and was appointed Assistant Director and Managing Therapist of Thrive Counseling Center. With this new role, Katherine is able to utilize her clinical expertise and knowledge of the practice to assist with maintaining optimal business operations. In addition to working alongside the Thrive Leadership team on various initiatives and creative endeavors, she also assists with the training and support of all Thrive Therapists. Katherine’s recent shift from “counselor” to “consultant” is undoubtedly an exciting new chapter in her professional development and affords her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those helping others.
