Layla Brandt, LAPC is an Associate Professional Counselor currently working on obtaining her License in Professional Counseling (LPC) and additional credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She obtained her Master of Science in Professional Counseling at Grand Canyon University in 2018. She has a Bachelor of Science in Counseling and Human Services from Point University in 2014 where she also minored in Biblical Studies.

Layla completed her practicum internship while working at Ga Hope from 2015 to 2021. While there, she gained experience working with children, adolescence, couples, and families in a variety of setting and life situations. She has experience with psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and assessments for mental health. Layla is also a member of the Licensed Professional Counselor Association of Georgia.

Layla has a firm belief that she was created to help others. She has a natural gift of empathy and understanding people. More so, she feels she understands children better than most adults because she still thinks like one. Layla is not afraid to be childlike and uses that to help her clients feel comfortable being themselves around her. Layla is well traveled which allows her to be humble when meeting new people. She understand that, much like traveling through an airport, everyone is carrying their own type of baggage; some have only a carry-on, others have five things of luggage, some carry their baggage with ease using a cart, while others are struggling to keep theirs together. Whatever the case a client finds themselves in, Layla takes a person-centered approach to walk with that client through whatever life has thrown at them. She believes that in the therapy setting, the client is the expert on themselves and her role is to act as the professional guide to help them get to where they want to go.

Mrs. Brandt works under the Direction of Olivia Prewett-Scott and the Clinical Supervision of E. Amanda Dellinger-Allen, Ed.S., M.S., LPC, NCC, CPCS, RPT-S, CTS, CAMS while at Thrive.
